DAX (Data Analysis Expression) is a customised formula expression language and can be integrated with different BI (Business Intelligence) and Visualization tools. Power BI DAX is one such powerful application tool developed and released by Microsoft. DAX is also familiar as a functional language, where the code of the application resides inside a function.
The DAX programming formula contains two data types, one is numeric and the other is non-numeric. Numeric data types include integers, decimals, currencies, etc. On the other hand, the non-numerical data type has binary objects and strings. In Power BI, different functions are used to analyse data and create models using those data. Some such functions are:
- Aggregate
- Logical
- Information
- Text
- Logical
- Date Counting
Power BI DAX starts the training course with DAX Function references, including new DAX functions. Candidates of this course will learn about how to work with date, time, and filter functions along with financial and information functions.
